The first case of a new coronavirus infection in Wuhan, central Hubei, China, was first identified in Japan. Wuhan pneumonia was the second country in Japan outside of China.

One man complained of pneumonia and was investigated by the National Institute of Infectious Diseases. As a result, a new coronavirus positive reaction occurred in Wuhan City.

The man began fever on the 3rd while traveling to Wuhan and returned to Japan on the 6th and was hospitalized for pneumonia. After receiving confirmation of the new coronavirus infection, he was treated, recovered, and discharged on the 15th.

This is the first time that patients with Wuhan pneumonia have been identified in Japan.

Anxiety is spreading as the Chinese authorities officially announced on April 15 that a new type of coronavirus that causes pneumonia could be transmitted to humans. The Wuhan City Health and Welfare Committee said on its website that "we could not find any clear evidence that the (new coronavirus) is spread between humans, but there is a possibility of limited human liver transmission." Of the 41 patients reported in Wuhan, one woman is likely infected by her husband.

The same virus-positive reaction came from a 61-year-old Chinese tourist who visited Bangkok in Wuhan on August 8. The virus was first identified outside of China.
