This Konica Auto S is a rage finder, produced in Konishiroku in 1963. The Konica AUTO S series is available up to the S3.
Konica Auto S has several features.
Since the range finder has separate lenses to be captured and the finder to focus, it is not captured exactly as you can see it. This is called Parallax.
Conversely, because SLR is photographed as it is seen, Parallax does not exist. In this konica auto s, automatic parallax adjustment according to the focal length is made in the viewfinder.
Considering the high cost of making a range finder (dual image) among the price of range finder cameras, and looking at the year of production,
This is a fairly advanced technology, and you can see how carefully it was made by Konica.
Another feature is that the hood is built-in. Built-in type, pull-out type hood is built-in.
Konica S has two types of exposure meters.
Konica S, SII, SIII are equipped with selenium exposure meters, and Konica S, S2, S3 are equipped with CDS METER exposure meters.
However, the Auto S above wasn't really successful, and it went to the Auto S2 model and had great success.
