If someone asks you to recommend a film camera, it is the first or second recommended camera. The X-300 was released around the same time as the X-700. However, they are almost functionally similar. The depth preview, program mode, exposure compensation, and the inability to check the aperture value in the finder are different.

The X-300 and X-370 are the same model, and their names are different due to differences in sales regions.

In the past, when Samsung Precision, the predecessor of Samsung Techwin, imported and assembled/produced Minolta parts, it was said that Samsung's founder, Byeong-cheol Lee, gave this X-300 when rewarding excellent employees in the company.

In 1978, with confidence in securing the growth potential and technological prowess of the domestic market, Samsung Precision formed a task force with four technicians for the first time and began developing cameras.

Samsung Precision Industries first tried to approach Japanese companies in order to acquire camera manufacturing technology. However, as expected, most Japanese companies were reluctant to transfer technology. Only Minolta was interested in the Korean market and wanted a partnership with Samsung Precision. In 1979, Samsung Precision signed a contract with Minolta and began securing parts and related technologies for manufacturing Minolta camera models. In the first year of the camera business, Samsung Precision planned to assemble 5,000 Minolta cameras (Himatic series), and for this work, Minolta dispatched two technicians to Samsung Precision Industries to instruct camera assembly. Based on this background, technology was gradually transferred to Korea.

The X-700 was distributed as the X-700 and X-700 MPS (Minolta Program System), depending on the sales region.

Later, the downgrade of the X-700 released the X-500, and the X-600, which lights up the finder when the focus is on the X-300.

Functional class: XD5 <XD7 (XD7=XD=XD11), x-300 <x-500 <x-700

There is also a rumor that Samsung founder Lee Byung-cheol presented this X-300 on his in-house merit/anniversary with his name inscribed.
